HAVE YOU HERD
MU took its final exhibition over UPIKE, 86-59, on Sunday.

Redshirt junior Andrew Taylor scored a game-high 18 points on an 8-for-17 day from the field while dishing out a game-high 11 assists for his double-double. The Corbin, Ky., native also brought down seven rebounds in the victory.

Senior Darius George followed Taylor with 13 points as he made six of his eight attempts from the field.

Junior Goran Miladinovic made it three Herd student-athletes in double-figure points as he tallied 11 with six rebounds and a game-high four blocks.

Senior Taevion Kinsey recorded a game-high eight rebounds and four steals while scoring nine points and adding seven assists.

Marshall head coach Dan D'Antoni enters his eighth season at the helm of the Herd, sporting a 128-99 record.

The Herd looks to replace a pair of key student-athletes who departed after this past season in its career steals leader Jarrod West and its all-time blocks leader Jannson Williams. West also led the Green & White with 126 assists during the 2020-21 campaign.

Marshall returns 11 student-athletes from the 2020-21 season and adds five freshmen to the roster. Newcomers include Kyle Braun, Aymeric Toussaint, Wyatt Fricks, Chase McKey and Creighton Thieneman.

Kinsey returns as MU's leading scorer and rebounder averaging 19.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The native of Columbus, Ohio, has scored at least 10 points in 52 of his last 54 contests, and has not failed to reach double-figure scoring in the previous 34 games.

SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
The Raiders defeated Lake Erie 86-53 on Tuesday with four student-athletes in double-figure scoring.

Tanner Holden led WSU with 19 points and five assists in the victory. Holden's father Rodney is a former men's basketball player at Marshall and was inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame in 2007.

Grant Basile recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds against Lake Erie.
