Herd Swimming and Diving’s Mooij Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Marshall University Women's Swimming and Diving team's own Raeleigh Mooij has been named one of six members of the 2021 Conference USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, the conference released Wednesday.
The All-Academic team was selected by a vote of the league's academic advisors, along with a pair of returning selections from last year's squad and four schools being represented.
In order to qualify for the nomination, student-athletes must achieve at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and serve as a key competitor of their team.
Mooij, a junior from Ottawa, Ontario carries a 3.89 GPA and is a double major in Health Sciences and Sports Management, along with an Exercise Science minor. She is a two-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and was a recipient of the 2020 Conference USA Academic Medal. Mooij is a three-time member of Marshall University's President's Honor Roll the last three semesters (an academic award from the University, not related to athletics, for students with 4.0 GPA). She has also participated in both of the Herd's meets this season, helping the team to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay against Ohio University.

The Marshall University Women's Swimming and Diving team are back in action this week in at the 2021 Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga on Feb. 25-27. The meet begins Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and will conclude Saturday at 6 p.m. There will be no spectators at the event. The meet will be livestreamed on CUSA.tv.
