Dankanych Clinches Victory for the Herd

HUNTINGTON, W.Va—The Marshall tennis team (5-5) defeated the Liberty University Flames 4-3, Saturday afternoon after Dani Dankanych secured the final point of the match.

The Flames (12-4) took the lead early 1-0, securing the doubles point in two of the three sets.

However, the Herd bounced back with individual wins in singles by Dankanych, Liz Stefancic, Jutte Van Hansewyck and Madison Riley.

It all came down to the last game between Dankanych and Liberty's Tiffany Nguyen. The two went into a tiebreaker in the first set with Nguyen clinching the first set, 7-6. Then, Dankanych battled back and won the final two sets 6-3, 6-2, to claim the Herd's final point to secure the win.
