HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University men's basketball head coach Dan D'Antoni announced the signings of Kyle Braun, Wyatt Fricks and Chase McKey to the 2021 Signing Class on Thursday.
Kyle Braun
Scotland Prep (PA)
Los Angeles, Caif.
Braun averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds. He earned several awards such as being an All-CIF LA City Section Team and CIF-LA All-City Open Division Team selection. He was also named to the All-West Valley Team and to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Division Three team.
"He's athletic and has a quick release. He reminds me in some ways of Stevie Browning. He's a competitor and a smart kid," D'Antoni said about Braun.
Wyatt Fricks
Winder-Barrow HS
Winder, GA
Fricks averaged 19.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 blocks per game in high school. He was named to the all-region team during his junior and senior seasons, while being an all-state selection during his senior year and helped his team to a sweet 16 appearance. Fricks was also nominated for male athlete of the year in the Athens, Ga., area.
"He's a Mikel Beyers type of player. He can handle the ball and run the floor. He's very competitive. He's athletic and can catch the ball above the rim. He can play anywhere and shoots threes well," D'Antoni commented about Fricks.
Chase McKey
TSF
Atlanta, Ga.
McKey averaged 13.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game at TSF. McKey's father, Derrick McKey, played 15 seasons in the NBA for the Seattle SuperSonics, Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers.
"He's a really good athlete. His dad, Derrick McKey, played in the NBA. He has good lineage and he can play any position one through five. He's a good ball handler for someone who is 6-10. He has a developing shot, but he's efficient with it," D'Antoni said about McKey.
