Marshall Tennis Drops C-USA Quarterfinal Matchup Against FIU

DENTON, Tex.—The Marshall tennis team fell 4-0 to the No. 3 seed Florida International Panthers in the 2021 Conference USA Women's Tennis Championships on Friday afternoon.

The Herd finished its season with a 7-9 (1-2 C-USA) record. The Panthers improved to 11-0 on the season.

FIU started out hot claiming the doubles point with wins over Madison Riley and Madison Ballow, and Anna Smith and Daniela Dankanych. The Panthers took an early 1-0 lead.

While the Herd fought back, the team fell short in singles. Madison Riley and Daniela Dankanych picked up wins in their first sets but fell short in the end. FIU clinched three singles wins to claim the victory, 4-0.
