HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University men's basketball team is back in action on Saturday as it concludes a three-game homestand against the Rice Owls in the Cam Henderson Center.

The Herd fell 69-65 to the North Texas Mean Green on Thursday in Huntington.
Junior Taevion Kinsey led the team with 29 points, five rebounds and five assists. The native of Columbus, Ohio, made 10 of his 19 attempts from the field and went 8-for-9 from the charity stripe.
Senior Darius George followed with 18 points on a 7-of-9 shooting night to go with three steals to lead the Herd.
Kinsey reached double-figure scoring for the 50th consecutive outing and recorded his 11th game of 20 or more points this season.
The Herd made a three in its 986th consecutive game, with the last contest without a triple occurring on Feb. 27, 1989, in a win over App State.
George played in his 127th career game. Passing Jarrod West (2017-21), Jannson Williams (2016-21) and Daryl Merthie (2006-10) to take sole possession of fifth in games played in program history.
Kinsey has played all 40 minutes in six of the last seven games. He now has 633 made field goals in career, ninth most in program history.
Freshman Obinna Anochili-Killen is second in the country with 65 blocks.
Marshall is fifth in the nation with 101 rejections this seasons.

The Owls are coming off an 80-66 loss at Western Kentucky on Thursday night in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Rice has made 37.9 percent of its shots this season, best in Conference USA and ranks 26th best in the country.
Carl Pierce is the reigning Conference USA Player of the Week. He's averaging 14.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per contest.
