Six top-three performances on final day
RESULTS
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Marshall University swimming and diving team finished second at the West Virginia Games on Saturday in Morgantown, West Virginia.
MU had six top-three finished on the final day of the competition.
"The first competition of the year is always a good indicator of where we are in our training," Herd swimming and diving head coach Ian Walsh said. "This format was challenging due to the length of the sessions. I thought we did a great job of navigating them and learned a lot through each session."
"There were a lot of performances that stood out this weekend. Eszter had a really good showing this weekend notching in-season bests in the 1000 and 500 freestyle that were right off her lifetime bests. The divers had strong showings, the highlight being Kailee's 3m performance as it was her best in-season score and ended up winning the event. Mia had a great race in the 100 back and now sits 10th all-time in program history. Paige's 100 breast was another strong swim, her fastest in season time to date. Madeline's 100 Free and 100 Fly double was well executed and Jenna's 200 Breast was an in-season best for her and finished very well," Walsh added.
