HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The fifth-ranked and second-seeded Marshall University men's soccer team is set to play host to the seventh-seeded James Madison Dukes in the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals on Sunday. The match is set for 3 p.m. at Hoops Family Field.

The Herd then racked up various Sun Belt Conference awards during the week.
 
Redshirt senior Milo Yosef earned SBC Men's Soccer Offensive and Player of the Year in addition to being named first team all-conference after tallying eight goals and three assists for 19 points during the regular season. Four of his eight goals were game winners to lead the conference. The forward from Aachen, Germany, currently ranks fifth in program history with 27 goals, tied for third with 18 career assists and tied for third with 72 career points.
 
Freshman Matthew Bell was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and first team all-conference. Bell, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, opened his collegiate career by leading Marshall and ranking second in the Sun Belt with 22 points and nine goals, including three game-winners.
 
Junior Adam Aoumaich earned second team all-conference honors in addition to earn the SBC Newcomer of the Year. A transfer from Albany, the French winger recorded nine assists, second most in the Sun Belt, to go with two goals for 13 points. Aoumaich is on a four-match point streak.
 
Senior defender Gabriel Alves was named first team all-conference after playing an integral part on the Herd's backline as he played in 1,158 minutes this season. The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, played on a Marshall defense that allowed just 11 goals in 15 games and had five clean sheets, including shutouts against conference foes WVU, Coastal Carolina and JMU. Alves tallied a goal from about 30-yards out against Old Dominion on October 15.
 
Graduate student midfielder Vinicius Fernandes was also named first team all-conference. Fernandes, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, recorded five assists and scored one goal on 20 shots, including 10 on goal. He appeared in 1,089 minutes during the season as he played a major role in the Herd's midfield.
 
Graduate student goalkeeper Oliver Semmle earned the final SBC Defensive Player of the Week award after recording his fifth shutout of the season against JMU on Tuesday and was named second team all-conference. The native of Au am Rhein, Germany, played every minute in goal for the Herd except 16 minutes, while accumulating a 10-2-3 record this season with a Sun Belt best .746 goals against average and a .744 save percentage, second best in the conference. Semmle's 10 wins this season are the most among all goalkeepers in the conference and his five shutouts were tied atop the SBC, including three clean sheets against conference foes WVU, Coastal Carolina and JMU. Semmle now has the most shutouts in program history with 24.

The Dukes loss to the Herd marked their first defeat in the team's last seven matches.

Goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon 58 saves and .734 save percentage this season, third and fourt best in the Sun Belt.

Cameron Arnold leads his side with five goals and 13 points while being tied for the team lead at three assists with Kevin Larsson.

Marshall tied the all-time series 3-3 after a 2-0 win on Tuesday at Hoops Family Field over the Dukes.
