HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Following consecutive convincing home wins, the Marshall women's basketball team (5-3) heads south to face the University of South Florida Bulls (8-3) Wednesday morning in Tampa.

PREGAME NOTES
Roshala Scott finished with a double-double against Wright State Friday (11 Rebounds, 10 Points). This was the first time a Herd women's basketball player recorded a double-double this season. The last to do so was Kennedi Colclough against WKU last season (13 Points, 11 Rebounds).
Roshala Scott is second in the Sun Belt with her 44.4% three-point shooting percentage, (56th nationally). Marshall is averaging 8.2 three pointers per game. This also leads the Sun Belt, and is 38th in NCAA Division I.
Mahogany Matthews led the Herd to a 72-47 win over Wright State with 18 points and eight rebounds. Matthews was an efficient 9-14 from the field. The 18 points and nine field goals made were both career-highs. Defensively, Matthews leads the Sun Belt with her 1.50 blocks per game average (70th nationally).
After another solid defensive performance, the Herd ranks 17th in the nation in scoring defense. The 52.9 PPG average that Marshall is holding opponents to is best in the Sun Belt. Opponents are only shooting 34.5% against the Herd this season, which is 23rd best in the country, (2nd in the Sun Belt-Georgia Southern-33.7%).

ABOUT THE BULLS
South Florida enters Wednesday morning's game with an 8-3 record, already having played four ranked opponents. In its last game, USF fell to the eighth-ranked team in the country, NC State, 65-57. This came after previously defeating #18 Texas, 70-65. It has been nearly a month since the Bulls have played on their home court at the Yuengling Center (Nov. 22).
South Florida boasts an impressive 10.7 rebounding margin, which is first in the AAC, and 20th nationally. Leading the team in rebounds is Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu with 11.5 per game. Fankam Mendjiadeu leads the American Athletic Conference in blocks (15), Blocks Per Game (1.36), Field Goal Percentage (56.9), Rebounds (133), and Double-Doubles (7).
Sammie Pulsis is a second USF player with high national prestige. The Ohio native leads the conference in Points (184), Three-Pointers (34), and Three-Point Attempts (90).
SERIES HISTORY
Marshall and South Florida have not met in women's basketball since the 20th century. The two sides first met in 1987, when Judy Southard's team defeated the Bulls en reroute to a 24-5 season. USF would win the other previous matchup in 1996.
