Myrtle Beach Bowl Offers Herd Fans Full Experience

Plenty of events, points of interest for fans traveling to Monday’s game

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Marshall has arrived in South Carolina in preparation for its date with UConn in Monday's Myrtle Beach Bowl at 2:30 p.m.

No matter what day Thundering Herd fans arrive in Myrtle Beach, there will be plenty for fans to enjoy leading up to the 2022 Myrtle Beach Bowl.

From holiday shows to game-based events and the unique taste of Myrtle Beach dining, here is a breakdown of some of the go-to spots for Marshall fans during their visit to the Grand Strand.

Friday, Dec. 16, 8:30 p.m. to Midnight – Crocodile Rocks

Location: 1318 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

Marshall fans can WEAR GREEN for free entry at one of the favorite establishments at Broadway at the Beach. Fans can gather at a local piano bar and enjoy a place that brings a flavor of New Orleans to Myrtle Beach. No RSVP necessary!

Saturday, Dec. 17, 7 p.m. to close – Wild Wing Cafe

Location: 4706 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582

Thundering Herd fans can gather at Wild Wing Cafe – also featuring an owner with Marshall ties - and enjoy of evening of fun and food while enjoying some bowl week festivities with the rest of Herd Nation. No RSVP necessary.

Sunday, Dec. 18, 4 to 6 p.m. – Conway Medical Center Pep Rally, The Hangout

Location: 1181 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, SC, 29577

Things kick up a notch on Sunday afternoon with both teams making their way to The Hangout, located at Broadway at the Beach, for the 2022 Myrtle Beach Bowl Pep Rally. The event will have bands, cheerleaders and a pre-game atmosphere to get everyone ready for Monday's game between UConn and Marshall.

Monday, Dec. 19, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – The Dutch Miller Pre-Game Tailgate

Location: Brooks Stadium, 540 University Boulevard, Conway, SC 29526

It's GameDay!! Dutch Miller and The Big Green team up to host a three-hour all-inclusive tailgate with food and drinks leading up to kickoff at the Tennis Courts, which will be in the northeast corner of the Brooks Stadium area. Admission to the event is $55 and RSVP must be sent to the Big Green by noon on Sunday.

Activities

Broadway At The Beach: This shopping center and entertainment complex is set in the heart of Myrtle Beach and features three theaters, over 20 restaurants and over 100 specialty shops. There are several clubs, hotels and other attractions surrounding Lake Broadway. Some of the attractions there include Ripley's Aquarium, Legends in Concert, WonderWorks, Hollywood Wax Museum and the Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Shopping: In addition to Broadway at the Beach's immense number of specialty shops, there are several other shopping opportunities near the Grand Strand that offer a variety of avenues for patrons to find a perfect gift or souvenir. Myrtle Beach has two separate Tanger Outlet locations, which offer many name-brand outlet stores and there is also Market Commons, which offers an upscale shopping experience. Several shopping malls and flea markets are also available for those looking to browse.

Holiday Shows: During this time of year, there are several holiday shows available to those looking for a bit of Christmas spirit with their bowl experience. Alabama Theatre is a popular attraction with "The South's Grandest Christmas Show" and Christmas at Pirates Voyage, located at Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show, shows the Christmas spirit to Captain Scrooge with a live Nativity scene, an angel with a special message and Christmas toys that come to life and perform acrobatics about the lagoon.
