Herd Swimming and Diving Drops Dual at FIU

Three first-place finishes for the Herd
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University swimming and diving team fell to the FIU Panthers, 191-108, on Friday in Miami, Florida.
Eszter Laban took two events by winning the 200 Butterfly and 500 Freestyle while Mia McBride took the 100 Backstroke.
"I thought as a team we put together a strong showing," Herd swimming and diving head coach Ian Walsh said. "There are some that handled the training this week very well, and that showed in their performances. There are definitely a lot of details that we can clean up leading into spring semester, but overall I feel like we're in a pretty good position."
"I thought we had a couple really stand out swims and dives tonight. Grace Kelsheimer put together a great list for a personal best in her 3-meter performance. Eszter Laban continues to find a way to get her hand on the wall in very tight races. Mia McBride had two great swims as well, just missing the double in 200 backstroke along with her 100."
"The team will have some time to recharge and we're looking forward to having the team back as we prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference meet in 8 weeks."
