Herd Men’s Basketball Closes Non-Conference Play against Glenville State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University men's basketball team (10-2) finishes its non-conference schedule on Monday against the Glenville State Pioneers in the Cam Henderson Center on Monday.

The Herd got back in the win column with a 100-85 win over Toledo on Saturday.
It was the first time MU tallied 100 points in a game since December 8, 2021, against Bluefield and was the first time against a Division I opponent since February 21, 2021, against Middle Tennessee.
Marshall is 4-0 against the Mid-American Conference this season.
Fifth-year senior Taevion Kinsey tallied 30 points on a 12-for-19 shooting night. His 30-point effort marked his fourth game of 30 or more points in his career. He has scored 24 or more points in his last three games. The guard ended a 17-point half with a put-back dunk as time expired in the first half.
The Herd turned eight Rocket turnovers into 13 points and scored 24 second-chance points on 15 offensive rebounds. It also registered 23 assists on 35 makes.
Freshman Micah Handlogten recorded double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds marking his third of the season. He has now grabbed 10 or more rebounds in six contests during the year.
Redshirt senior Andrew Taylor tallied a season-high 27 points as junior Kamdyn Curfman matched his season-high with 16.
Kinsey is the only player in the country averaging at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists. The Columbus, Ohio, native ranks fifth in the country in points scored with 263 through 11 games.
Handlogten has 129 rebounds this season, fourth most in Division I men's basketball.
As a team, Marshall sits in the top 10 nationally in a few statistics as it ranks third in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.69), fourth in rebounds per game (42.67), fifth in offensive rebounds per game (14.92), and ninth in assists per game (18.6).

The Pioneers are coming off a 95-93 loss to Salem on Saturday.
Jordan 'Turbo' Smith leads Glenville State with 18.4 points per game. He has five games of 20 or more points this season, including a 33-point effort against Alderson Broaddus.
