RESULTS
ELKHART, In. – The Marshall swimming and diving team finished the 2022 National Invitational Championship with 33 points when all of the events were completed on Saturday.
That point total was good for 30th in the team standings.
The Thundering Herd's 400 Free Relay team of Gabrielle Ivey, Klava Katayama, Or Tamir and Madeline Hart posted a 15th-place finish in 3:24.63.
Eszter Laban (2:02.89) and Hart (2:04.63) took 18th and 19th, respectively, in the 200 Fly.
The 200 Breast saw Paige Banton record a time of 2:18.54, good for a 22nd-place preliminary finish. She also swam the 100 IM and took 40th in the prelims in 58.69.
Ivey led the team with a 34th-place finish (51.35 seconds) in the 100 Free prelims.
Tamir swam the 200 Back in 2:04.56, which put her in 41st place in preliminary action.

"I am incredibly proud of this group and how they navigated this meet. This was, by far, our best session. We brought back two individual performances for finals and capped off the night with our highest finish in the 400 Free Relay. Madeline Hart swam a lifetime best today in her 200 Butterfly. She and Eszter both moved up in points with their final swims. Our 400 Freestyle Relay was a great race, finishing with the same time we did at conference two weeks ago.
"Our staff is so grateful for everyone that has played a part in creating an atmosphere where all of our team members can grow and be challenged as they've progressed through our program. We made huge strides as a program this year and we are looking forward to using this as a springboard into next season."
