Herd’s opponent enters Saturday tied atop the Sun Belt standings
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's basketball team (9-9, 2-5 SBC) concludes its two-game homestand against Southern Miss (13-5, 6-1 SBC) Saturday at the Cam Henderson Center.

PREGAME NOTES
Junior guard Abby Beeman notched career-assist number 601 in the team's last game against Troy. Beeman has led the team in assists in 11 different games this season and on 10 separate occasions in rebounding.
Junior guard Roshala Scott set a new career-high with 29 points on Thursday, her fifth game of the season surpassing 20 points. The Earle, Arkansas native has scored 969 points for her collegiate career.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Southern Miss is a team the Herd will be familiar with, having faced Coach Joye Lee-McNelis and the Golden Eagles in the Conference USA.
The name to know for USM is junior guard Domonique Davis. The Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team member leads the team in nearly every statistical category. Davis is first in the conference in field goal attempts (277) and is second in the league in steals (43).
Marshall and Southern Miss have met on 27 previous occasions as C-USA members. The Golden Eagles lead the series 16-11 but Marshall did win in Huntington on New Year's Day last season, 72-55.
