Clerkley Named Second-Team All-Sun Belt

NEW ORLEANS – Graduate student volleyball student-athlete Essence Clerkley was named Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Clerkley had quite the final season of her career for The Herd. The native of Palestine, Texas, accumulated 282.5 points on 221 kills while being in on 87 blocks, 18 solo and 69 block assists. The graduate student's .286 hitting percentage ranked 10th in the Sun Belt.

Clerkley had nine matches of 10 or more kills, including a season-high 17 against Furman on September 8th.

Marshall is back in action for a second-round match against Southern Miss on Thursday in 2023 Sun Belt Volleyball Tournament at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST.
