Seven in Double-Figure Scoring Powers Herd Past Bluefield

Herd surpasses century mark for the first time this season with 103 points

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Men's Basketball team (5-7) was powered by seven student-athletes in double-figure scoring to down the Bluefield Rams, 103-70, in the Cam Henderson Center on Monday night. MU reached the 100-point plateau for the first time this season.
"I appreciate Bluefield coming up," Herd head coach Dan D'Antoni said. "We needed to see a lot of players play longer than we have, especially our young kids. I thought we played well. We gave up a little more points than I wanted to, but overall I thought we played pretty well."
The Herd was led by Cameron Crawford, who tallied a game-high 17 points, with Nate Martin registering his seventh double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds while dishing out five assists and rejecting four shots.
Obinna Anochili-Killen made seven of his 10 shots from the field for 16 points as Kevon Voyles went 6-for-8 for 14 points.
Wyatt Fricks and Kamdyn Curfman each contributed 11 points in the victory. Jacob Conner put together quite the stat line with 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Herd started the contest on a 21-2 run during the first nine minutes of the contest and never looked back against the Rams. MU led by as many as 34 points, 79-45, when Fricks made a layup at the 8:48 mark in the second half.
Marshall made 37 of its 72 attempts from the field for a shooting percentage of 51.4 with a season-high 21 assists in the victory.
The Herd also outrebounded the visitors 45-36 and outscored them in the paint 54-42 in the win.
