HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics had eight programs finish with perfect Graduation Success Rates (GSR) while 25 student-athletes celebrated their graduation earlier this month.

Overall, Marshall student-athletes compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.18 for the Fall 2023 semester. Women's Golf (3.89) led all women's programs in Team GPA while Men's Soccer (3.47) set the bar for the men's programs. Every women's program achieved at least a 3.19 Team GPA.

"I am very proud and excited to see the hard work of our student-athletes pay off," said Kaylyn Torain, Marshall's Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services. "To achieve these accomplishments with a rigorous athletic schedule shows their drive for academic success."

The eight programs who scored a perfect GSR report include Women's Basketball, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Men's Cross Country/Track, Women's Cross Country/Track, Women's Soccer, Women's Swimming and Diving and Women's Volleyball.

Marshall's Overall Graduation Success Rate across all programs was a 91, which tied for first place in the Sun Belt Conference.

Every Marshall Athletics program finished above the Federal Graduation Rate and, in addition to the eight programs that finished with perfect scores and sat atop the SBC, Marshall's baseball program finished 3rd with a GSR of 90 while Softball (GSR = 96) and Football (GSR = 80) finished fourth in the league.

The Graduation Success Rate data was released by the NCAA for the 2013-14 to 2016-17 freshman cohorts for all NCAA Division I institutions as part of the annual NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program release on Dec. 6.
