Herd Swimming and Diving Finishes Day One at MVC Championships

Herd has top-10 program marks in both events
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Marshall University swimming and diving team concluded day one at the Missouri Valley Championships on Wednesday.
MU's 200-Yard Medley Relay team of Mia McBride, Paige Banton, Madeline Hart and Klava Katayama posted a time of 1:41.11, the fourth best time in program history, while the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay team of Gabrielle Ivey, Hart, Audrey West and Eszter Laban put up a time of 7:26/40, sixth fastest in program history.
"A great start tonight for our divers and relay legs," Herd swimming and diving head coach Ian Walsh said. "Our 200 Medley Relay started off the evening with the fourth fastest time in program history, placing fourth overall. Our divers carried that moment had the highest score out of all other programs in the exhibition Team Diving event. Wrapping up our evening was the 800 Free Relay, which posted the sixth fastest time in program history."
"Six of our eight relay legs were lifetime best performances, and all swims tonight were season bests. We set a great tone tonight and are excited for the individual swims we have tomorrow morning."
