Herd Tennis Earns ITA Atlantic Community Service Award Honorable Mention

Strom ranked 17th in singles, ninth in doubles with Vanderheyden
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team saw its name in several places the as ITA announced its final regional rankings and postseason awards.
The Herd earned an honorable mention for the Atlantic Region's Community Service Award for its work in the community and finished the season with an eighth-place ranking as a team.
With an 18-2 record in the spring, Johanna Strom finished the season ranked 17th regionally in singles. The native of Stockholm, Sweden, was also named the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors in singles.
Strom along with doubles partner Emma Vanderheyden were ranked ninth in the region's final doubles rankings. The duo finished the spring with a 13-5 doubles record and earned first-team all-conference honors as a doubles pairing.
