Hoops In Huntington Returns to Downtown Huntington on Sept. 28

Herd Men’s & Women’s Hoops teams unveiled; Swim & Dive joins as special guests
Huntington, W.Va – Marshall Athletics presents the 2nd Annual 'Hoops in Huntington' event in downtown Huntington at 7 p.m. on September 28th in front of Pullman Square, located on Third Avenue.
Returning after a successful first year, Hoops in Huntington brings excitement to downtown Huntington with an event that gives fans a first look at Marshall's Men's and Women's basketball teams. New for this year, Marshall's Swim and Dive Team will also join in the festivities, which include basketball skills challenges, a 3-point competition, a 3-on-3 game, a dunk tank and much more.
"I absolutely love this event," said Christian Spears, Marshall's Director of Athletics. "This is a sincere chance to get to know our teams and the awesome student-athletes that represent us all while providing a great opportunity to showcase our downtown area as well. We have great business support for the event and the family atmosphere makes this one event you won't want to miss."
The outdoor court will be set up on Third Avenue between the Marshall University Visual Arts Center and Pullman Square.
Fans are encouraged to get to the event at 6 p.m. for an hour to enjoy autographs from the three teams, along with knockout competitions, inflatables and food options that will be available leading up to the event's 7 p.m. start.
Marshall Athletics is selling limited edition 2023 'Hoops in Huntington Shirts' with fans being able to select from black or white shirt options. Shirts are $25 and all proceeds directly benefit the men's and women's basketball programs. You can purchase shirts here and pick them up at the event.
The Swim and Dive team opens their season with its Green and White Scrimmage on September 30th., followed by several road meets from October to January. You can find their complete schedule HERE.
Both Marshall Basketball teams open their season on October 29th against the University of Pikeville. Game times for the double header are TBD. Season Ticket deposits are currently open, make sure to secure your tickets today.
