Marshall-Radford Tickets At The Greenbrier
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Men's Basketball is set to take over The Greenbrier Resort for a night of college basketball as the Thundering Herd meet Radford on Nov. 10 at "America's Resort" in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
The contest will take place inside the prestigious Colonial Hall as the Thundering Herd and Highlanders meet in an early-season, non-conference contest.
"We are absolutely thrilled with this opportunity at The Greenbrier," said Christian Spears, Marshall's Director of Athletics. "I love how outside-the-box their thinking was with putting a court inside Colonial Hall. This will provide a first-class experience against a regional opponent. I know we will travel well to the venue and we expect the limited number of seats to be sold out."
Jill Justice, DO, President of The Greenbrier and a 2007 Marshall graduate who also played women's basketball for the Thundering Herd, outlined the excitement of college basketball on the grounds of The Greenbrier Resort.
Tickets for the event are $40 for General Admission/Student tickets. Those can be purchased HERE.
"Bringing college basketball inside Colonial Hall provides another incomparable experience for our guests and will introduce a new audience to the legacy of The Greenbrier," Justice said. "We look forward to welcoming Radford and Marshall and developing this tournament into the best on the early-season schedule."
Marshall head coach Dan D'Antoni brings his home-grown brand of basketball back to southern West Virginia where he grew up in what should be an exciting contest for fans from the Mountain State.
The Mullens, West Virginia, native and veteran head coach of the Thundering Herd will take on a Radford team led by head coach Darris Nichols, who played collegiately at West Virginia University.
Marshall is coming off a 2022-23 season in which the team won its most regular season games in 75 years, finishing at 24-8 overall and 13-5 in its first year playing in the Sun Belt Conference.
The Herd returns 3-point shooter Kamdyn Curfman, who comes into the 2022-23 season No. 2 among active NCAA players in career 3-pointers made with 374 in 122 career games (3.07 per game).
For many years, The Greenbrier Resort has served as host to several marquee sporting events, including PGA Tour and LIV events in golf, training camp for NFL teams, a home for many marquee tennis events and also a venue for a boxing match involving former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield.
"The Greenbrier prides itself on being the ultimate destination for all, and sports fans are included," Justice said. "From the most consequential events in golf to the biggest stars in tennis and football – as well as unique events such as boxing, wrestling, lacrosse and more – America's Resort has welcomed sports of all types onto its iconic property."
Tickets for the event will not be shipped and must be picked up at the Will-Call location in Chesapeake Bay, adjacent to Colonial Hall, starting at Noon on Gameday. Game tickets do not include entrance to The Casino Club at The Greenbrier. Only overnight guests will be admitted to the casino.
Parking for the event will be located at the Train Lot across the street from the Main Entrance to The Greenbrier. Shuttles will transport spectators from the Train Lot to the venue, beginning at Noon on gameday.
Concessions for the contest will be available inside the venue, starting at 5 p.m.
