No. 5 Herd Men’s Soccer Has First Road Test at No. 8 Pitt Tuesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 5 Marshall University men's soccer team (3-0) heads to Pittsburgh for its first road contest of the season against the No. 8 Pitt Panthers (1-1-1) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The match will be televised on the ACC Network.

PRE-MATCH NOTES

Marshall leads the country in goal differential at 12 and is one of 11 programs to not concede a goal during the 2023 season.
In the Herd's last nine contests, it has given up just three goals, going 6-2-1 during that stretch.
MU also sits atop the national leaderboard with 36 points and is tied with Marquette for the most goals scored at 12.
Individually, Gabriel Perrotta is one of 6 goalkeepers to record three clean sheets so far this season.
With 7.67 total shots and 3.33 shots on goal per game, Alvaro Garcia-Pascual ranks first and second in Division I men's soccer, respectively, with his three assists ranking third.
Matthew Bell's four goals place him second nationally with his eight points putting him in fifth.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS

Pitt is 1-1-1 this season and is coming off a 4-1 loss at Georgetown on Friday night.
Luka Kozomara and Albert Thorsen each have a pair of goals this season with Thorsen tallying the game winner against Howard on Aug. 28.
Cabral Carter is goal this season replacing Joe van der Saar after Pitt's run to the College Cup semifinals last season. Carter has made two saves while allowing five goals in the team's three matches this season.
