Warner Named SBC Swimmer of the Week

Freshman earns first conference weekly honor of the season

NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University swimmer Molly Warner was named the Sun Belt Conference Swimmer of the Week on Thursday, as announced by the league office. It is the freshman's first weekly award of the season and the team's fourth.
Warner had a stellar showing this weekend against two MAC opponents, facing off with Ohio Friday evening and Bowling Green Saturday morning. Warner won two individual events Friday evening with season best times (200 Freestyle - 1:52.13 / 200 Backstroke - 2:04.12), ranking 7th & 8th in the SBC conference standings, respectively. She also placed third in the 400 IM with a 4:28.30. She assisted in a second place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay to complete the meet.
Saturday morning Warner won her third event of the weekend with a time of 2:08.07 in the 200 Individual Medley. She also placed third in the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 58.31 and 2:06.27, respectively. Warner helped guide the Marshall 200 Freestyle Relay to a 3rd place finish to complete the session.
