Aislynn Hayes Named Sun Belt Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Marshall’s junior transfer led the league with nine three-pointers last week
NEW ORLEANS – Following a pair of 20-point performances, Marshall guard Aislynn Hayes has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league.
The junior transfer from Murfreesboro, Tennessee led the SBC with nine three-pointers during the 10th week of the season, including a career-high six in the team's 72-60 win over Coastal Carolina Saturday. Hayes led the team in both victories with 20 and 23 points respectively for Coach Kim Caldwell's team.
"I'm beyond proud of Aislynn," Caldwell said. "She works so hard everyday, she is always in the gym working on her game, she deserves this. She keeps getting better and better and I'm thankful I get to coach her. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for her."
Hayes is averaging 12.9 PPG in her first season with the Herd. Her 25 triples have been key to Marshall's 5-0 start in conference play.
Hayes and the Herd will start a crucial homestand against Old Dominion Thursday at 6 p.m. from the Cam Henderson Center.
