NEW ORLEANS – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team swept conference weekly awards with Grace Kelsheimer and Molly Warner being named Sun Belt Diver and Swimmer of the Week on Thursday, as announced by the league office.
Kelsheimer had a great opening meet to help Marshall win the West Virginia Games in a nine-team field, including the West Virginia Mountaineers, over the weekend qualifying for NCAA Diving Zones in the 1m and 3m.
On Friday for day one, the senior won the 3m Dive with a 291.08 and followed that up with a 294.15 in the 1m on Saturday winning the event qualifying for NCAA Diving Zones in both disciplines.
The native of Westlake, Ohio, is heading to her third consecutive NCAA Diving Zones having competed in 2023 and 2024.
Warner had three individual wins over the two-day WV Games meet, hosted by West Virginia University last weekend. On day one, Molly won the 200 Freestyle (1:52.33), besting the competition by almost a full second. She placed fourth in the 200 Fly (2:06.92) and was also a member of the 400 Freestyle Relay that placed second, splitting a 53.01 on the second leg of the race.
On day two, native of Shelby Township, Michigan, competed in the 400 Medley Relay, helping win the event while splitting a 51.54 freestyle anchor leg. She followed that performance by winning the 200 Backstroke (2:03.46), placing third in the 500 Free (5:09.60), and winning the 200 IM (2:07.68) by over 1.5 seconds.
