Marshall Football, Men’s Basketball Game-Times Announced For Nov. 16

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics announced on Monday that the Nov. 16 contests involving Marshall Football and Herd Men's Basketball will start at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
Marshall Football's annual '75' game will take place at 1 p.m. against Coastal Carolina at Joan C. Edwards Stadium while Marshall Men's Basketball will host Bellarmine at 7 p.m. at Cam Henderson Center. Both games will be shown on ESPN+.
The game-time announcements came in conjunction with the announcement of football game-times and television considerations within the 12-day window, as part of the agreement between the Sun Belt and its television partnership with ESPN.
Marshall Football's annual '75' game honors those lost in the 1970 Marshall plane crash, which killed all 75 patrons aboard Southern Airways Flight 932 as it returned Marshall's football team from a 17-14 loss to East Carolina on Nov. 14, 1970.
To this day, it is still considered the greatest sports tragedy of all-time.
Each season, Marshall honors those individuals lost in the crash with a memorial '75' game, which takes place at the closest home game to the date of that crash.
This year, SBC East rival Coastal Carolina comes to Joan C. Edwards Stadium for the '75' game, which will be a key contest as the Herd continues its quest toward an SBC East division title.
Later that evening, Marshall Men's Basketball will host Bellarmine as part of an MTE (Multi-Team Event) in which the Herd is hosting three games and playing in four total.
The contest against Bellarmine will be the fourth straight home game to open the Corny Jackson era with Marshall Basketball and allows for a perfect scenario in which fans get to enjoy a full day of Marshall Athletics.
