Hart Earns Second SBC Swimmer of the Week Award

Fifth-year senior earns second weekly honor of the season

NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University Swimming and Diving fifth-year senior Madeline Hart earned her second Sun Belt Conference Swimmer of the Week award this season, as announced by the league office Thursday.
Hart had a tremendous meet at the U.S. Open Championships setting one top 10 program time and breaking a school record.
On the second day of the competition, Hart swam a time trial in the 200 Butterfly finishing in 2:00.25 and breaking the program originally set in 2004.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native's leadoff 100 Freestyle split of 50.43 in the 400 Freestyle Relay moved her into sixth all-time in program history.
Hart also swam of the Butterfly leg of the 200 Medley Relay that saw her and teammates Kseniia Luniushina, Paige Banton and Mia McBride combine to set the seventh fastest time in program history at 1:42.10.
The fifth-year senior also competed in the 200 Freestyle Relay finishing her leg in 23.33 seconds while finishing her 100 Butterfly leg of the 400 Medley Relay in 54.40 seconds.
Individually, Hart reached the B Final of the 100 Butterfly finishing 11th with a time of 54.71.
