PRE-GAME NOTES
- Marshall's regular season conference championship is the Herd's first since the 1988-89 Southern Conference crown. The Herd has locked into the No. 1 seed at next week's tournament, where MU will seek its first tournament title since the 1997 SoCon Championship. Note* - SID David O'Leary was less than a month old for the 1997 SoCon Tournament.Â
- The Herd is also gunning for its most wins in a season in program history. The 1986-87 team under Coach Judy Southard won a program-best 23 games in the regular season before winning a game in the SoCon Tournament for an overall-best 24 wins in a season.Â
- Tuesday marked the return of forward Mahogany Matthews. The York, Pennsylvania grabbed three rebounds after missing the previous 11 games due to injury.
