HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team was named a Fall 2023 College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team by earning a 3.8 semester GPA, the highest in Division I Women's Swimming and Diving.
"As a team we continually preach the importance of consistency in everything we do," Herd Women's Swimming and Diving head coach Ian Walsh said. "We are incredibly proud of our women and how they balance the workload in the pool and classroom."
The repeat honor from the Fall of 2022 for Marshall earns the team eligibility for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings with its GPA being above a 3.30.
"The resources our administration arms our student athletes with allows us to provide the support needed to perform at this level," Walsh said. "Jake (Aganus) has done a great job assisting our women and we appreciate the entire staff at the Buck Harless Student Athlete Academic Center."
The Herd is set for the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Orlando, Florida. The Championships are set to be played from February 14 through February 17.
