Marshall Athletics Has 75 Student-Athletes Earn Degrees In Spring 2024

Thundering Herd student-athletes finish semester with Overall GPA of 3.27
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics is proud to announce that 75 student-athletes earned their undergraduate degrees following the completion of the Spring 2024 term.
Those graduates celebrated their accomplishment during Spring Commencement ceremonies, which took place on April 27 at Marshall Health Network Arena.
"We are so proud of our 75 student-athletes who realized their dreams of obtaining a college degree this semester," Spears said. "They have represented us well in their athletic ventures and there's no doubt they will continue to do so in their careers. We look forward to seeing what incredible contributions they make to the world with their degree from Marshall University."
Swim & Dive and Women's Track & Field each led the way for Marshall Athletics programs with 12 student-athletes earning their degrees.
It was also announced that Marshall student-athletes earned an Overall GPA of 3.27 during the Spring 2024 semester, which ended last week.
This cumulative number represents all Thundering Herd student-athletes across the 18 sport programs offered by Marshall Athletics.
"Our No. 1 mission at Marshall University is to help our students reach their full potential by instilling knowledge and values that will make them successful in the world," said Christian Spears, Marshall Director of Athletics. "The academic achievements of our student-athletes show that they have again embraced the challenges that accompany the balance of being a student and an athlete. Congratulations to them on a great semester and special thanks to our devoted academic support staff, who goes above and beyond to ensure that our student-athletes are put in position to succeed."
