Marshall Athletics Celebrates Fall 2024 Academic Success

All programs finish semester over 3.0 GPA; Women’s Golf leads way at 3.93
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics had a banner semester in terms of the academic success of student-athletes for the Fall 2024 term as all 16 sponsored programs finished above a 3.0 GPA.
As a whole, Marshall Athletics finished the Fall 2024 semester with a 3.36 Overall GPA.
"I am so proud of the continued excellence shown by our student-athletes both in the classroom and in competition," said Kaylyn Torain, Marshall's Assistant Athletic Director for Academics. "The Buck Harless Student-Athlete Program staff is especially grateful to celebrate the achievements of our Fall 2024 graduates, whose dedication reflects the heart of our program. A special thank you to the Buck Staff for their unwavering support in guiding and empowering our student-athletes to succeed."
Marshall Women's Golf led all programs with a 3.93 Team GPA, followed by Swimming & Diving with a 3.77. The top Men's Program was Men's Cross Country with a 3.46, followed closely by Men's Golf, who was also at 3.46.
Of the 16 sponsored programs by Marshall Athletics, 10 finished with a 3.4 Team GPA or above.
Also, 101 student-athletes made the prestigious President's List (4.0 GPA with 12 hours or more) while 169 student-athletes were named to the Dean's List (3.3 GPA or better).
In addition to the classroom success by each team, there were also 17 student-athletes who earned their degree in Fall 2024 and took part in graduation ceremonies in December.
