Carlos Del Rio-Wilson Named To Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2025

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson was named to the Davey O'Brien Award's QB Class of 2025, which was released on Thursday.
This honor means that Del Rio-Wilson is officially a candidate for the 2025 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award – only one of 36 FBS quarterbacks to be in that running.
Del Rio-Wilson earned the honor for his play at quarterback for the Herd this season, which includes him ranking No. 2 in FBS in completion percentage at 74.4 percent and No. 3 in FBS in quarterback efficiency at 184.1.
The redshirt senior from Atlanta has twice been named to the Davey O'Brien Award's weekly 'Great 8' which highlights the top quarterbacks for each week.
Del Rio-Wilson most recently earned the honor for his performance in Week 7 in the win over Old Dominion in which he finished 17 of 24 for 219 yards and two scores while rushing 17 times for 95 yards and two scores.
His first nomination came in the Week 4 win at Middle Tennessee when Del Rio-Wilson went 18 of 22 for 261 yards and four touchdowns while also adding a rushing score to the Herd's 42-28 win over the Blue Raiders.
In six games this season, Del Rio-Wilson is 90 of 121 passing for 1,133 yards with 12 touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed for 347 yards and four scores.
Fans have an opportunity to boost Del Rio-Wilson's stance in the running for the 2025 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award through the Fan Vote that will run through the end of the first round of voting on Nov. 7.
To vote, fans must simply like the official graphic from the @daveyobrien social media account that highlights Del Rio-Wilson, which can be done on the award's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Del Rio-Wilson leads the Thundering Herd into a nationally-televised game against Coastal Carolina at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on ESPN2.
