Herd Trio Earns SBC All-Conference at 2025 Cross Country Championships

FOLEY, Ala. - Marshall Cross Country competed Friday morning at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships, with Brady Dawkins and Justin Lipscomb earning All-Conference status on the men's side, while senior Hannah Wyler garnered First Team All-Conference to lead Marshall's women.
"Hannah Wyler, Justin Lipscomb, and Brady Dawkins all had elite performances today," Director Keith Roberts said. "I was proud of the way they competed. They have been consistent all year and it's nice to see them walk away with some hardware."
"Very proud of all our kids today, especially our All-Conference athletes Hannah Wyler, Justin Lipscomb, and Brady Dawkins." Head Cross Country Coach Caleb Bowen said. "They ran tough and competed hard and I am so stoked to see them on the podium."
Wyler finished seventh overall with a time of 17:25, a new 5K PR for the senior from Mineral City, Ohio. She becomes the Herd's third runner in the SBC era to earn multiple All-Conference awards. Wyler joins Abby Herring and Kylee Mastin as the two All-SBC First Team runners as well.
Dawkins and Lipscomb each earned their first All-Conference honors, becoming the first Herd men to do so since 2023. With an 11th place finish, Lipscomb earned All-SBC Second Team with his PR time of 24:32. Dawkins set a new personal best as well with a time of 24:48 to finish 15th, good for All-SBC Third Team.
Five Marshall men (Lipscomb, Dawkins, Maxton Sowers, Landon Brumfield, Conner Myers) and three Herd women (Wyler, Taylor Spencer, Asha Bora) set new personal records Friday morning. The Herd men finished 6th out of nine with 134 points. Marshall's women finished 8th out of 13 with 182 points.
"Our men's and women's teams have shown great growth and the three All-Conference shows what we are capable of doing as a team," Roberts added. "We had big goals this year and even though we didn't finish where we planned, we have a lot of returners coming back. We have regionals in a couple weeks and I look forward to seeing how we respond. I have no doubt we'll have some great performances."

The Herd will race at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships. Results from their races at Lehigh, Penn. on Nov. 14 will determine team or individual status for the National XC Championships.
