NEW ORLEANS – Marshall Cross Country junior Hannah Toth has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday, as announced by the league office.
Toth led Marshall's women's team with a 68 second PR in her first cross country race in nearly two years, finishing with a 17:43 at the Louisville Cross Country Classic. The Westminster, Maryland native's previous 5K PR was 18:57 at the 2023 edition of the Louisville Classic.
"We are excited about Hannah being named Sun Belt Runner of the Week," Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Keith Roberts said. "She has worked hard and is extremely deserving. I could not be happier."
Toth was the top Sun Belt Conference finisher in the Louisville Cross Country Classic Gold Race.
"It's so awesome to see Hannah Toth get rewarded for all of her hard work," Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. "I've never met someone that loves the sport more than Hannah. She's so much fun to work with and I'm lucky to be able to work with athletes like her."
Toth and the Marshall Cross Country teams return to competition on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Bowling Green Falcon Invite.
