HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Swimming & Diving was recently named as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
The honor comes after Marshall Swimming and Diving achieved a Team GPA of 3.77 for the Fall 2024 semester, ranking the team in the top-10 nationally among Division I Women's Swimming and Diving programs.
"We are proud of what our women continue to accomplish in the classroom," Marshall Swimming & Diving coach Ian Walsh said. "Our support from the Buck Harless Academic Center and their staff is crucial in our success. These women represent our community, department and program in a first-class manner both in the classroom and in the pool."
The CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honor is given to select schools throughout the different divisions of collegiate swimming and diving. To earn this distinction, teams were required to achieve above a 3.0 Team GPA.
In addition to the prestigious honor, Marshall's mark of a 3.77 Team GPA qualifies the Herd for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings, as well.
"The commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by these teams is truly admirable," said Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA. "It is inspiring to see student-athletes excel both in the pool and in the classroom. The CSCAA takes great pride in honoring and celebrating their dedication and achievements."
