Aislynn Hayes Earns Second SBC Player of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – For the second time this season, Marshall guard Aislynn Hayes has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday.
Hayes leads the SBC in scoring average - and after a pair of 29 and 26 point performances to lead her team to two road victories - is averaging 18.0 PPG this season.
In the team's road win at App State Wednesday, Hayes scored 29 with six rebounds and three assists. She followed up that performance with 26 in the team's win at Georgia State Saturday, including making 11 free throws.
Hayes has now reached double figures in 24 of the 27 games she has played in, with her scoring nine points in each of the three non-double digit games. Saturday was her 10th game with 20 or more points.
Hayes will be one of five seniors honored prior to the team's regular season finale from the Cam Henderson Center Friday evening at 6 p.m.
