HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team announced its Alumni Weekend for October 10 and 11 highlighted by the 'Duel in the Pool' against the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium at 5 p.m. on October 10.
"We are excited to have West Virginia University on our schedule this year," Herd Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ian Walsh said. "It will be the first time ever that the women's programs will face off in a dual meet format. To have both West Virgina flagship Division I institutions competing against one another is great for our state and our sport. Both staffs are excited to make this a home-and-home annual event, while fostering a great in-state rivalry for years to come."
The two teams have been competitors against each other in the West Virginia Games to kick off swimming and diving season with The Herd winning the last two iterations.
Before the meet on Friday, there will be a pre-meet tailgate and an alumni recognition before the duel with more details to come.
