HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University has announced that its 2025 Homecoming contest will be Marshall Football's Oct. 18 contest against Sun Belt Conference West Division member Texas State.

It will serve as a memorable first matchup between the teams as the contest caps the excitement of Homecoming Weekend 2025. Marshall Royalty will also be crowned at halftime of the game with Texas State.

A full schedule of events for Homecoming Week, including information on the Homecoming Parade, will be shared as it becomes finalized.

Marshall Football is coming off a 2024 season in which it won its last seven games of the season, including a 31-3 win over Louisiana in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship.

Marshall previously released that Homecoming would be the week of Oct. 11, but a change was made due to Fall Break for students falling on that week.

Since the opening of Joan C. Edwards Stadium in 1991, Marshall is 29-5 in Homecoming games and 9-1 over its past 10 games. Marshall's all-time record in Homecoming games is 69-46-8.
