Four Herd S&D Student-Athletes Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Hart, Kelsheimer, Warner, West honored by College Sports Communicators

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University graduate students Madeline Hart and Audrey West, senior Grace Kelsheimer and sophomore Molly Warner were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, as announced by the College Sports Communicators.
 
To eligible for the honor, the student-athlete must have maintained a 3.5 GPA and either competed in five competitions or a top eight finish at a conference meet. All four have advanced to voting for the Academic All-America Teams.
 
Hart, a Biomedical Engineering major, was named First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference and the Elite Award Winner for the conference's top combined athletic and academic performer last week. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native brought home six medals from the SBC Championships including gold in the 100 Butterfly, 200 Medley Relay and as a part of the program record breaking 400 Medley Relay squad. The graduate student was a two-time SBC Swimmer of the Week and holds the second fastest time in program history in the 200 Butterfly.
 
Kelsheimer, a Biological Science major, was named First-Team All-SBC last weekend. The Westlake, Ohio, native was seven-time SBC Diver of the Week and won gold on the 1m boards at the Championships with a silver on 3m. The senior qualified for the NCAA Diving Zones reaching the finals on 1m the A Zone with the highest finish of an SBC diver with a 16th place finish.
 
West, an Exercise Science major, was named first-team all-conference by the Sun Belt last week. The graduate student brought home six medals with a pair of golds in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays as the anchor leg in both races. Individually, the native of Walton, Kentucky won silver in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke.
 
Warner, a Biological Science major, was named second-team all-SBC last week. The sophomore won thee silvers in Orlando in the 800 Freestyle Relay, 200 IM and 400 Freestyle Relay. The Shelby Township, Michigan, also took home a bronze in the 200 Freestyle.
