Marshall Basketball Teams Set Sights On Titles In Pensacola

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Men's and Women's Basketball teams now know their game-times for the 2026 Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Basketball Championships, presented by Air Force Reserve.
The tournament, which will be played at the Pensacola Bay Center, gets underway on Tuesday with first-round games in the men's and women's brackets.
Marshall's Men's Basketball team earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament and advances to the SBC Tournament semifinals, which will be played at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 8.
The Herd comes in at 19-12 overall and was one of six teams to go 11-7 in league play, ultimately earning the tiebreaker over the others tied with them to get the No. 2 seed.
Marshall will face the winner of No. 3 seed Coastal Carolina and the Winner of Game 8, which could feature several teams taking on the Chanticleers.
The winner of Marshall's semifinal matchup on Sunday will advance to the March 9 SBC Championship Game, which will take place at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT and be shown nationally on ESPN2.

Marshall Women's Basketball has earned the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will play in the fourth round of the 2026 SBC Women's Basketball Tournament at 12:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. CT on Friday, March 6.
The Herd will take on either Texas State – the No. 8 seed – or the Game 3 winner, which could be Coastal Carolina, South Alabama or App State.
Marshall comes into the contest at 23-8 overall, which tied for the most regular season wins in program history. The Herd was also 13-5 in SBC action.
