HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Men's Basketball Team (15-9, 7-4 SBC) fell to undefeated No. 23/24 Miami (24-0) 90-74 in the MAC/SBC Challenge on Saturday afternoon in a sold-out Cam Henderson Center.

"Miami, they were the better team start to finish," Herd Men's Basketball Head Coach Cornelius 'Corny' Jackson said. "They came out and imposed their will. They got a big lead in the first half. We came out and did some pretty good things in the second half, but you can't get down that big of a number."

Noah Otshudi delivered a standout performance for the Thundering Herd (15-9), leading all scorers with 23 points on 11-of-19 shooting.

Wyatt Fricks registered a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Fricks added a pair of three-pointers and went a perfect 3-for-3 from the line.

Jalen Speer finished with 13 points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists, while Landen Joseph matched his own career high with four steals off the bench and notched his eighth double-figure scoring game of the season with 11 points.

The RedHawks took control early with a 7-0 first-half run to build a 19-point halftime lead. Eian Elmer paced Miami (OH) with 18 points, hitting all four of his 3-point attempts, while Peter Suder and Antwone Woolfolk combined for 32 points and 14 rebounds.

The Herd fought back after halftime, shooting 49 percent and outscoring Miami 43-41 in the second half. Shamarrie Hugie knocked down a key three-pointer at the 12:21 mark of the second to trim the deficit to 10, but the RedHawks responded to keep Marshall at bay down the stretch.
