Herd Tennis Picks Up Sweep at Western Carolina

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Tennis team (8-7) secured a 4-0 sweep on Wednesday on the road at Western Carolina.

The Herd started out strong in doubles with Nour El Ouazzani and Polina Gumeniuk taking a 6-2 win at number two.

Then at number three, Paula Berzina and Thalia Smith won 6-4 to secure the doubles point for MU.

With walkovers at five and six singles, Johanna Strom clinched the match with a straight set win at number one.

Mokrynska, Ouazzani and Smith each won their sets at singles two, three and four, respectively, before their matches were abandoned.
