ROME, Ga. – The Marshall University Tennis team (13-10) moved on to the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals with a 4-0 sweep over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Thursday in Rome, Georgia.
"Good start for the team. We're looking forward to putting it together again tomorrow," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.

The Herd started strong in doubles with a 6-1 win from Thalia Smith and Polina Gumeniuk over Martina Della Gora and Rocio Amoros Navarro at number three.

Then at number one, Johanna Strom and Alina Mokrynska clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 triumph over Angelique Berrat and Nina Kreklenberg.

Nour El Ouazzani continued the moment into singles with a 6-0, 6-2, win over Gora at number five to make it 2-0. Smith followed with a 6-1, 6-2, victory at number six over Navarro.

Gumeniuk then closed out the sweep with a 6-4, 6-2, triumph over Safia Zenbi at number two to see MU move on to the quarterfinals.
