ROME, Ga. – The seventh-seeded Marshall University Tennis team (15-11) came to a close in a 4-0 loss to top-seeded Old Dominion on Sunday at the Sun Belt Conference Championship match in Rome, Georgia.

"Got to give credit to ODU. They were just better today, but I'm proud of the run the team made. The future is bright," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.

The Monarchs captured the doubles point with wins at number two and three doubles with the contest at number one going unfinished.

ODU carried its momentum into singles with wins at one, five and six to close out the championship match.
Â
Polina Gumeniuk took her first at number two singles in a tiebreak over Victoria Matasova while Alina Mokrynska won her first set 6-2 and was up 3-0 in the second over Ulyana Romanova at number three as they went unfinished with the Monarchs clinching the match.
