Five Herd Softball Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Softball student-athletes Haleigh Adkins, Ava Blake, Abby Darnley, Bella Gerlach and Paige Maynard were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
To be eligible, nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games and have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA in the spring semester.
Adkins was named to the same award last season. The Herd's middle infielder has made 105 appearances for the Herd over the last two seasons.
Darnley was also a CSC member last season. The team's 2026 Emileigh Cooper Warrior Award recipient finishes her Herd career with 170 appearances. Paige Maynard joins Darnley as an outgoing member of the program to earn the honor.
Ava Blake and Bella Gerlach earn their first CSC All-Academic Awards. The duo combined for 32 home runs this season.
