Withrow Wins Again for Herd at Queen City Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Marshall's Rachael Withrow has competed in two meets in her short Thundering Herd career. She has come away as the individual winner in both. The reigning Sun Belt Conference Women's Runner of the Week won the Queen City Invite Friday, racing a time of 16:18.
Withrow, the Winfield, West Virginia native and Bowling Green transfer won and set the course record at the Thundering Herd Invitational last week.
Juniors Destiny Berryman and Hannah Toth finished in the overall Top-10 for the second consecutive meet as well. Freshman Brayleigh Becken and Ellie Hosaflook finished in the team Top-5 for the MU women, who secured a 3rd place finish.
For Marshall's men, Justin Lipscomb - also a Winfield native - led the way once more. Lipscomb was followed closely behind by freshmen Landon Jones and Dylan Dial.
A season-debuting Brady Dawkins and Conner Myers rounded out a Herd men's Top-5 which finished 3rd as well.
"While the results were amazing they don't tell the full story of what we are building," said Director of XC/TF Keith Roberts. "The professionalism, camaraderie, and family atmosphere made this trip a tremendous success."
"Rachael Withrow had another monumental performance, and we couldn't be more proud of what she accomplished. Both our men's and women's teams finished in the top three, and it was truly a complete team effort."
"Destiny Berryman and Hannah Toth are off to incredible starts, and it was great to see both of them back under 18 minutes. On the men's side, Justin Lipscomb continues to lead the crew, while Landon Jones and Dylan Dial are off to fantastic starts in their young careers."
"We also had freshman Brayleigh Becken finish in the women's top five, which is an exciting glimpse of what's ahead."

"I'm very proud of both squads today. Getting 3rd on both sides just shows how strong we are," said Head Cross Country Coach Caleb Bowen. "The women was highlighted with Rachael winning the meet with a 16:18! Two back-to-back races in the low 16's is awesome! Also very proud of Destiny and Hannah Toth running really strong throughout the whole race!"
"Once again the men was highlighted with having a strong and super close pack led by Justin Lipscomb and closely followed by freshmen Landon Jones and Dylan Dial."
