Marshall University and the Athletic Training Department welcome you to Huntington, WV. Our sports medicine staff is more than happy to assist our visiting teams with anything that may be needed to keep their athletes healthy during their time here.
We have two athletic training rooms on campus that contain hydroculators, ice machines, whirlpool, multiple modality machines, and taping tables. The Henderson Center Athletic Training Room is located in room 1017 on level A of the Cam Henderson Center which houses all basketball and volleyball contests along with swimming and diving meets. This facility also accommodates the tennis team during their matches. The Shewey Athletic Training Room is located on the bottom floor of the Shewey Building attached to Joan C. Edwards Stadium. There is also a satellite athletic training room at Dot Hicks Field for softball games that includes an ice and a modality machine and at Hoops Family Field which includes ice, heat, and modality machines. Special arrangements for athletic training room use will be made for baseball games depending on which baseball field will be used for that day's game. Please touch base with your contact athletic trainer if you need anything prior to such games.
The sports medicine staff has planned access to Cabell Huntington Hospital in case of emergencies, with a plan for communication and transportation between the athletics site and the medical facility for prompt medical services. Cabell Huntington Hospital houses most of our team physicians which are readily available when needed for such cases.
