Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach/Football/Baseball/Softball

Billy Brown is in his first season as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Marshall where he works closely with football, baseball and softball.

Brown comes to Marshall after working at The Citadel as a graduate assistant of strength and conditioning since January 2012. There he coordinated all aspects of the baseball and cross country programs and assisted year round with football and wrestling.

Prior to The Citadel, Brown was a part time strength and conditioning coach at UCF in 2011 from August to December. He implemented workouts with football and assisted with men's and women's tennis, baseball, track and all other Olympic sports.

He did an internship at UCF from 2010-11 while completing a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Fitness in May 2011. Brown earned a Masters of Science in Health and Exercise and Sports Science in December 2013.

Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant/Football/Baseball/Softball

George Carpenter is in his second year as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning at Marshall.

Carpenter was a standout linebacker for the Thundering Herd from 2008-2011. He finished third on the team with 92 tackles as a senior.

Carpenter was a multi-sport prep standout at Lancaster High School in Ohio and helped the football team to four straight state playoff berths as a fullback. He was a an accomplished swimmer, winning the conference championships in the 50 meter free and the 100 meter breaststroke as a senior.

Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant/Football/Baseball/Softball

Tyson Gale is in his first season as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Marshall. Last season, Gale was a GA for the Marshall football program.

Gale starred for the Thundering Herd football program from 2008-2011 as a linebacker and was a team captain as a senior on a team that won the Beef `O' Brady's Bowl. On Oct. 3, 2011, he was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. Also as a senior, Gale ranked second on the team in tackles with 95 and led the team in tackles for loss with 12.5.

Gale is a native of Alva, Okla. And was a first team all-state performer in 2007.
