Bailey Lange has been named the pitching coach for Marshall softball, as announced Monday, September 9 by Head Coach Morgan Zerkle.

“We are thrilled to add Bailey to our staff as she is yet another mid-major stud turned coach who will most definitely elevate our pitching staff,” Coach Zerkle said. “At Wichita State, she led her team to their first ever Regional Final, which is something we have our eyes set on here at Marshall. Bailey is smart, ambitious and a perfect fit for the Herd.”

Lange, a 2021 graduate of Wichita State University, had a successful academic and athletic career for the Shockers. She won 47 games as a two-way player for WSU, also finishing with a career .295 batting average. Lange tallied an additional 11 victories in her first two collegiate years as a pitcher for Northern Iowa.

The Sioux Falls, South Dakota native made the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in her final season while pitching the Shockers to the Regional Final.  She graduated with a Degree in Exercise Science.

“I am so excited to get the opportunity to coach with a staff that has so much knowledge about the game!” Lange said. “I have always had a passion for pitching and the game of softball, and I am grateful to be a part of an awesome program and even better community that supports Marshall University and their athletes. Go Herd!”
