Tim Martin
- Induction:
- 2011
- Class:
- 1996
Few Marshall players have been more exciting with a football in their hands than Tim Martin, who ranks among the best wide receivers and kick returners in Thundering Herd history. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., product also had a reputation for being a fearless receiver over the middle of the field despite standing only 5-feet-9 and weighing 170 pounds. Martin still ranks high on the Marshall charts with 221 career receptions for 2,886 yards and 23 touchdowns while also returning 150 punts for nearly 1,500 yards and another five TDs. Martin helped Marshall to a 50-9 record in his four seasons on the field, including a 15-0 record and the 1996 NCAA Division I-AA national championship. A three time All-Southern Conference selection, he also played baseball for the Thundering Herd, batting .295 for the 1995 season. Martin was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.
